Don’t Get Caught Out!

It is important everyone taking part in any watersports or even if you’re just visiting the beach, are aware of the tides as the flow and depth of water can change very quickly and can vary from one location to the next.  Copies of Laver’s Liverpool & Irish Sea Tide Table are available from chandleries and most local shops for example newsagents, petrol stations, supermarkets etc and cover key areas on the Island or contact 01407 762051, or a seven day forecast can be downloaded from http://easytide.ukho.gov.uk/EasyTide/EasyTide/SelectPort.aspx.

RNLI

Wales has a number RNLI stations.  On the Isle  of Anglesey you can visit either Beaumaris, Holyhead, Moelfre or Trearddur Bay. Moelfre is also home to the recently revamped Seawatch Centre museum where you can learn more about Anglesey’s rich maritime history as well as climb aboard an authentic twentieth century lifeboat.  The RNLI is funded entirely through voluntary donations, so please visit the stations to learn about the invaluable and often life-saving service they provide and if you want to see the lifeboats in action, then make sure you don’t miss each station’s Lifeboat Day – see events calendar.
